What size is your affair?

This can greatly effect the cost of the wedding as well as how many musicians you will need. One school of thought is that for every 75-100 people you should have 1 musician, see next section on - "why are bands are so loud".

The idea being that the more people you have, the more dancing there is likely to be and horn players and other musicians will get tired from ongoing, non-stop playing. One of course should also go with what they can afford and be careful to stay within a designated budget.

Remember: No matter what the size of your band, it won't sound good unless the musicians work well together.

Make sure the band your dealing with has musicians that play together on a regular basis. If you have any special request it's always good to make a list of the various items and send them to the orchestra office. It's also important to feel comfortable with the band leader not just the sales person as he will ultimately be responsible for the music at your affair.
